A New Deal for a New Generation

Yesterday at Hyde Park, we rededicated the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, the culmination of a multi-year renovation project and exhibit redesign. A Presidential Library is and must be a living entity.  President Roosevelt, who created the Presidential Library System along with the National Archives, recognized this and believed that democracies need to study the past in these libraries to gain judgment and wisdom in creating the future.  And in order to fulfill this mandate, these libraries need to renew themselves and make themselves relevant to new generations.
